Landske: U.S. 231 and Parrish Avenue Traffic Signal Activated this Thursday
March 10th, 2010
STATEHOUSE (March 9, 2010) – A new traffic signal at the intersection of U.S. 231 and Parrish Avenue in Lake County is scheduled to be fully activated Thursday, said State Sen. Sue Landske (R-Cedar Lake).
“Drivers need to be aware of this new signal, which replaced a yellow flashing caution light,” Landske said.
Landske said the volume of traffic at this intersection – which also serves as a primary route for Indiana residents who travel to Illinois – has increased due to local development in the area.
“Because of the dedicated efforts of the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) personnel, the project is being completed ahead of schedule,” Landske said. “Their diligence means the intersection will now be safer and less congested for motorists of Lake County.”
According to INDOT, the scheduled activation is subject to change in the event of inclement weather.
Sen. Landske represents Senate District 6, which includes Benton, Lake, Newton and Porter counties.
